  1. PFM2AFM by Ken Borgendale is v.1.0 (source code dated Oct. 14, 1991) of
  2. a program which will convert Windows .PFM files to .AFM files required
  3. by PageStream 2.x.  The .AFM file is an Adobe Font Metrics file.  This
  4. is an ASCII flatfile giving the metrics for a type 1 font.  PageStream
  5. requires this file to install a type 1 font.  It also requires the
  6. matching .PFB file which is the actual font.  Many Type 1 PostScript
  7. fonts from non-Adobe sources are shipped for Windows with the .PFM
  8. files, but without the matching .AFM file.  This utility overcomes that
  9. problem.  Nowhere in the docs will you see a mention of Atari (just
  10. Windoz and OS/2, though the included C source code has been modified to
  11. work on an Atari).  In fact the program itself only mentions the Amiga
  12. port!  But it runs on my STE, and that's what matters!
